In December 2010, Oprah Winfrey surprised the world by kicking off her farewell season with the trip of a lifetime, an eight day adventurous trip to Australia. Oprah invited a selected audience of 300 “ultimate viewers” to travel Down Under for “Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure” and on the last day of the trip, she surprised her audience with one of her most glamorous giveaways ever.
In Sydney, Oprah filmed two episodes of her show at the legendary Sydney Opera House– where famous Australian and non-Australian guests, such as Russell Crowe, Bon Jovi, U2, Jay-Z , and Steve Irwin’s family dropped in to share in the festivities. To celebrate this special Australian experience, Oprah, with help of Rio Tinto’s Argyle Diamonds, gave each of her 6,000 audience members a necklace in the shape of her signature “O”, set with seven diamonds, including a rare Argyle pink diamond. What an amazing gift! Oprah’s audience members were, of course, ecstatic.
Ever since the show aired, viewers have wanted to know where they can buy their own “O” Argyle diamond necklace—and their requests have not gone unheard. Rio Tinto Diamonds has partnered with Chow Tai Fook, China’s leading jewel manufacturer, and recently announced the sale of a limited edition Australian Colours “O” pendant, featuring Argyle diamonds, inspired by the necklace that was given to the Oprah audience in Australia.
Now every person who watched from home and wished they were in Australia on “Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure” can join in on the fun and own a little piece of Australia with the Australian Colours “O” necklace. The pendant is available in either 10K White gold or Rose gold and is set with six carefully selected Argyle brilliant white diamonds, total weight approximately 0.08 carats. Each pendant includes a sterling silver chain.
The Argyle diamond mine, located in the East Kimberly region of North of Western Australia, is one of the world’s largest suppliers of diamonds, producing approximately 20 million carats each year. Argyle diamonds are known for their exceptional fire and light.
